Shanghai 1930 is a cosmopolitan restaurant evoking the flavors and culture that evolved in Shanghai during the period between the wars, when the eastern Chinese province was called the "Paris of the Orient." People all over the world were attracted to Shanghai in those years, and it became a world center for cultural exchange. During the thirties, Shanghai was first to fuse international cuisines, combining the tastes of the East and West. Today, San Francisco's Shanghai 1930 restaurant features traditional, exotic dishes such as Fish on "The Vine," Yiubao Prawns, and Yunnan Ham with Lotus Root.
